Amritsar — 30th May, 2012:( Rashmi Talwar):Fresh Hostelers in Delhi Public School got a taste of welcome party organized by the school today. The evening began with a ramp round in which all the new hostellers were given a chance to introduce themselves.
Dr. S.S. Bedi, Sr. Medical officer, CHC Manawala was the chief guest and was warmly welcomed by School Principal Mrs Sangeeta Singh, Hostel warden and others on the occasion. An Investiture ceremony wherein a council of students is elected annually was also solemnized on the same evening to instill leadership and responsibilities in youngsters. The chief guest along with Principal embellished students with badges.
A Punjabi Skit, Choreography piece, Mime show marked the occasion that added glitz and glamour to the evening. The show ended with a scintillating performance of Bhangra which gave a hearty end to the evening.
DPS had started the hostel facility for boys in the school last year and many more new facilities have been short listed for it, informed Mr Aakash Khandelwal, member Management committee of the school, on the occasion. Former hostelers shared their hostel experience with the new inmates and an atmosphere of camaraderie was created for new comers to adjust to the new environs
