Punjab bans journalistic activities by teachers

Or Scientific articles to Newsapers & Magazines

Chandigarh, 31 August 2012 (BharatSandesh News):– The Punjab government today completely banned journalistic activities by government teachers and other employees of education department and categorically made it clear that strict disciplinary action would be initiated against such erring teachers and employees under the provisions of civil service rules.

Disclosing this here today, Punjab Education Minister Mr. Sikander Singh Maluka said that journalistic activities by teachers or other education department employees would not be allowed at any cost and if anyone found guilty of this violation, a strict action would be initiated under Punjab Civil Service rules against him.

The Minister pointed out that teachers or other employees would, however, can contribute pure literary, classic or scientific nature articles to newspapers and magazines or broadcast on radio and television. He said that the education department was in favour of grooming talent of teaching fraternity by encouraging them to make their contribution in creation of quality literature besides developing the interest of students towards sciences through their articles on such issues. He said that in this regard the departmental instructions have been issued by the Director General School Education (DGSE).
