Members of Mission Aagaaz started its ‘Monsoon Plantation Drive’

Members of Mission Aagaaz started its ‘Monsoon Plantation Drive’ by planting a sapling and tree guard outside the office of CPI at Chheharta  in the memory of Late Shri Satpal Dang who was a great visionary leader and served the under privileged with a missionary zeal throughout his life.

Under this plantation drive, 100 saplings of amaltas, sukhchain, neem, karipata etc with tree equal number of tree guards will be planted and maintained on a stretch along G.T. Road from GNDU to India Gate. 500 saplings will be planted in adjoining villages and the local panchayats/people will be motivated to ensure their maintenance. Apart from this, 1000 saplings will be distributed in various schools and localities.

On the occasion Members of Mission Aagaaz and CPI expressed their deepest condolences for the victims of Uttarakhand tragedy. It was also felt that this disaster was a result of unplanned and over urbanization of hilly areas where numerous forests have been vandalized to erect concrete jungles. Moreover, number of tourists and vehicles should also be restricted to such areas in order to maintain the serenity of nature.

This incident is a nature’s knock on our ears to conserve the natural habitat on mountains and restrict the urbanization there. We appeal all the residents to stand with all those who were going through harrowing time due to landslides and floods in Uttarakhand and donate generously to support the victims who have suffered "extensive devastation".
