SEPTEMBER 29 (Bharat Sandesh) – A delegation of Aartiya Association Punjab led by its President Mr RS Cheema today called on the Punjab Chief Minister Mr Parkash Singh Badal here at his residence, this evening and apprised him about their genuine demands. The Chief Minister gave a patient hearing to the all the issues raised by the delegation regarding the delay in lifting by the contractors in the grain markets, delay in payments by the agencies, development of infra structure in grain markets, plot allotment & there reserve price.Considering their demands sympathetically Mr Badal asked the Mandi Board and Food and Civil Supplies Department to sort out all the issues immediately.
Regarding the issue of delay in procurement at Mandis allotted to the FCI, Mr Badal asked the Department to depute one state agency along with the Central Agency for the smooth procurement operation. On the demand of the deputation he also directed the heads of all the procuring agencies of state to issue a copy of gate pass after every lifting to the concerned Aartiya for their record. The Chief Minister also directed the department to sort out the issue of balance payment of Rs 61 lac of Aartiyas belonging to Khamano Mandi, towards three state agencies.
Mr Badal further directed the Punjab Agricultural Marketing Board for the re-planning of the Mandis developed by the Colonization department.
Amongst those present on the occasion included Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr DS Guru, Financial Commissioner (Development) Mr NS Kang, Secretary Food and Civil Supplies Mr DS Grewal, MD MARKFED Mr Ajit Singh Pannu and Secretary Mandi Board Dr KS Sra.
