Amritsar- The District administration in association with the Children Film Society of India has organized a ‘Children Film Festival’ from Oct 3 to Oct 10 in the Amritsar District. The Deputy Commissioner, Mr. Rajat Aggarwal, Inaugurated the festival at Aanam Theatre here today.
During the festival educational, historical, documentary and social films would be shown to the school children from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, free of cost in the 10 Cinema halls of the City. The main aim is to inculcate social awareness and mannerism among children.
Mr. Aggarwal said such festivals provide an opportunity to make children aware about several things which would help them in becoming good citizens. He added “children are the future of Our Nation and will run the country tomorrow.”
Mr. Aggarwal informed that the Children Film Society of India has made more then 200 films for children till date and many of them have won several national and international awards. He added that daily 10 shows would be held for the school children of the district absolutely free of cost.
He informed that from Oct 3 to Oct 5 shows would be screened for Higher Secondary children and from Oct 7 to Oct 10 for Elementary Students. Besides, arrangement has been made to show films in rural schools via projectors. 50 special shows would be held for rural children in their respective schools.
Mr. Baljit Singh Additional Deputy Commissioner and Mr. Manmohan Singh Kang SDM Amritsar –II were also present on the occasion.
