PEDA AWARDED FIRST PRIZE ON NATIONAL ENERGY CONSERVATION DAY

Chandigarh, December 14:The Union Government today awarded the First Prize to Punjab Energy Development Agency (SDA-Punjab) in appreciation of its achievements in Energy Conservation for the year 2011.
Mr.. Viswajeet Khanna, IAS, Principal Secretary, Science, Technology, Environment and NCES, today received this award from Union Minister of Power, Mr. Sushilkumar Shinde, during the National Energy Conservation day celebrations at New Delhi.
Mr. T.P.S. Sidhu, Chief Executive, PEDA  told that PEDA has initiated various energy efficiency demonstration projects in the Municipal street lightings, government buildings and industry to promote energy efficiency in the State. LED street lights and home lights have also been promoted to get maximum energy efficiency in lighting sector. He also added that decentralized renewable energy projects and energy efficiency together could provide energy services at least cost.
