6th International Youth Peace Fest

 The 6th International Youth Peace Fest is jointly organized by Yuvsatta, Oxfam-India, Gandhi Smriti & Darshan Samiti, SD College and UN Volunteers.|
Another group of students led by the second American Gandhi Donald McAvinchey enjoyed the hospitality of Bhawan Vidyalaya, Panchkula and The Gurukul, Panchkula, where as differently abled students from ARUSHI Bhopal took a workshop to promoting ‘Differently abled friendly cities’ at Doon Public School, Panchkula.
A group of twenty elected Municipal Councillors is also in the city to participate in the Peace Fest and they were invited by Ravinder Pal Singh, Mayor to his office to exchange notes on working of Municipal Corporation and grassroots democracy. Later they were taken on ‘Hop-on, Hop-off’ bus for a round of the city.
Later in the evening at the NITTTR, Sector 26, stage was set on fire by the mesmerising performance of an accomplished Belle dancer Maria from Spain, where students from Bhutan, Afghanistan and our own group of ‘Bapu Dham Butterflies of Yuvsatta’ also performed..
Important happening tomorrow i.e. September 30, 2011 at IYPF 2011;
 1.    At 11.30 a.m.: Peace Activist & Raman Magsaysay Award winner Mr. Sandeep Pandey to address a Press Conference along with American Gandhi Donald McAvinchey & Pramod Sharma, Coordinator, Yuvsatta on the issue of ‘Change the present visa system between India & Pakistan’, at Chandigarh Press Club, Sector 27 B, Chandigarh. Pakistan delegation to IYPF was denied visa this year and last year too.
2.    At 11.45 a.m; Mr. Biraj Patnaik, Principal Adviser, Commissioners of the Supreme Court of India on the Right to Food Case, to address the young change makers at GGD SD College, Sector 32, Chandigarh.
3.    At 6.30 p.m.: An international musical evening of dance and music will be organized at GGD SD College, Chandigarh
4.    Between 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.: National & International peace fest delegates will be sensitizing the city residents to ‘Change the Climate Change’ by car-pooling, use of bicycles, walking for short distances, adhering no honking at traffic light points of Press Chowk, Kisan Bhawan, Panjab University Gate no. 2 towards Sector 15 and Transport Chowk, Sector 26, Chandigarh
