BADAL ASKS PUDA TO ALLOT HOUSES FOR 1984 RIOT VICTIMS AT LUDHIANA AND MOHALI

CHANDIGARH (Bharatsandeshnews) – Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal today asked PUDA to start the process of allotment of houses to all the valid red card holder victims of 1984 riots.
          A decision to this effect was taken by Mr. Badal while presiding over a high level meeting here at Punjab Bhawan today this morning.
          The Chief Minister directed that the house allotment to the red card holders those had occupied the houses illegally at Ludhiana and Mohali till 31st March 2011 to be regularized, whereas the remaining vacant houses would also be allotted to the red card holders who had not been allotted any house earlier. He further directed PUDA to coordinate with the concerned authorities to invite fresh applications and expedite the process.
    Mr. Badal also approved to include the names of grand children of the riot victims in their red cards.  He also assured the deputation of the riot victim families led by Mr. Surjit Singh that the remaining 109 red cards recommended by Sinha Committee would be issued soon after the ongoing inquiry conducted by the Divisional Commissioner Ludhiana. 
    Prominent amongst those who were present in the meeting included Revenue Minister Mr. Ajit Singh Kohar, Chief Secretary Mr. SC Agrawal, Advocate General Mr. Baldev Singh, Financial Commissioner Revenue Mr. AR Talwar, Secretary Housing & Urban Development Mr. SS Sandhu, CA GMADA Mr. Sarabjit Singh, CA PUDA Mr. AS Miglani, Secretary Revenue Mr. GS Sidhu, Deputy Commission Ludhiana Mr. Rahul Tiwari and Deputy Commissioner Mohali Mr. Varun Roojam.
