Blood donation camp organized on Shaheed Bhagat Singh’s Birthday

Kharar/Chandigarh (Bharat Sandesh) – A blood donation camp dedicated to the commemoration of the birthday of Shaheed Bhagat  Singh  was organized at Doaba Group of Colleges, at Ghataur (Kharar).  The camp was organized by Shaheed Bhagat Singh Social Club, Campus-I, in collaboration with Rotary, Chandigarh Central and a team of doctors led by Dr.  Usha Rao from the Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research  (PGI), Chandigarh.  The camp was inaugurated by Mr. K. K. Walia, President Rotary Club Chandigarh (Central).  Dr. H. S. Batth, President, Doaba Khalsa Trust, Sh. S. S. Sangha, Managing Vice-Chairman, DGC, S. Jeet Singh, Chief Administrator,  DGC, Dr. Daljit Singh, Director-Principal (DIET), Dr. R. K. Jain, Director-Principal (DWIET).  On this occasion, Dr. H. S. Batth, Sh. Rajesh Bindra, Sh. Inderjeet Singh, Sh. H. K. Arora, Sh. Navjeet Singh Aulakh, Roatarians, Ms. Hardeep Virk, PRO,  also graced the occasion.  The dignitaries blessed and encouraged the donors.
172 units of blood were donated on this occasion,    Dr. H. S. Batth, himself,  Secretary Rotary Club, Garshankar said that all the three campuses of Doaba Group of Colleges organise blood donation camps twice a year on a regular basis.  Dr. Batth was impressed by the enthusiasm shown by all the students particularly enthusiasm of the girl students of Campus-I.
Prior to the blood donation camp, the students, staff and Shaheed Bhagat Singh Club members distributed  70 kgs. Of ladoos on 28.09.2011, to mark Saheed Bhagat Singh’s birthday.  The students vowed to lead value-based lives in consonance with the ideals of Shaheed-E-Azam Bhagat Singh.
The club members decided to hold a number of awareness and charitable camps in near future.
