Request for discussion under Rule 77 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business.

Mr. Nirmal Singh Kahlon,                                                                                                                  Time 12.00 Noon
Hon’ble Speaker
Vidhan Sabha
Subject:- Request for discussion under Rule 77 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business.
Sir,
As stated above, I request that a detailed discussion be allowed under Rule 77 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business on the Transport policy of the State Govt.
As we are aware, The Tribune newspaper has published an exhaustive account of transport Policy adopted by the govt. in September 2007. According to their investigative reports carried for four days regularly, many serious loopholes have emerged indicating strong favouritism to the family of the Chief Minister who own large fleet of buses. As per reports the tax structure was altered to suite the vested interest of private bus operators at the cost of state owned public transport that is incurring huge losses.
Therefore, in order to find out why such losses are being incurred to the public exchequer, it is highly imperative to debate the issue threadbare on the floor of the Vidhan Sabha during the ensuing session.
I hope you would oblige and allow a discussion on the transport policy of the SAD-BJP govt.
Thanking you,
With regards,

Sukhpal Singh Khaira
MLA Bholath
