LUDHIANA – The Directorate of Extension Education will be organising three training programmes for the members of Progressive Beekeepers Association (PBKA) and PAU Kisan Club.
Giving details, Dr M.S. Gill, Director of Extension Education, PAU, said that State Level Training-cum-Workshop for progressive beekeepers will be held on October 5 at Centre for Training, Kairon Kisan Ghar (KKG). The workshop will apprise the trainees of the marketing of honey and honey based products. Besides, interaction and discussion with progressive beekeepers and review of last meeting/activities would also take place. He informed that the registration for the workshop will be held at 10.00 a.m. at the venue of the programme.
Dr Gill further told that two Monthly Training Camps for PAU Kisan Club members and ladies wing will be held on October 7 at Dr Borlaug Wheat Auditorium (DBWA) and KKG. The PAU home scientists will hone the skills of the ladies wing team by imparting them theoretical as well as practical knowledge about the baking and wrapping of cakes and rangoli making for Diwali festival, he said. Another training camp for the club members, to be held at DBWA, will familiarize the trainees with the current issues of agricultural sector, cultivation of winter vegetable crops, seed production techniques, mushroom growing, rodent control measures in Happy Seeder Technology (HST), development of HST and experience of Australian farming. Dr Gill will be the Programme Director whereas Drs Rupinder Kaur and T.S. Riar (Coordinator of the Club) will be the Programme Coordinators for the training camps. The registration for both the camps will take place at 9.30 a.m. at the scheduled place.
