Chandigarh – GMADA has framed a policy to provide affordable housing for the economically weaker sections (EWS) of the society including the poor particularly living in slum.
Disclosing this here today, a spokesperson of the Punjab Government said that according to the newly formulated policy, 40 percent of land reserved for EWS, in mega projects as well as in colonies licensed under the Punjab Apartment and Property Regulation Act, 1995 will be de-reserved for use by the developers/promoters as residential plots/flats in lieu and promoters/developers shall construct specified number of EWS flats on the remaining 60 percent area as per the drawings and specifications approved by GMADA alongwith the common infrastructure/amenities.
