BADAL MOURNS SAD DEMISE OF NOTED GHAZAL SINGER JAGJIT SINGH

CHANDIGARH-   Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal today expressed profound grief and sorrow over the sad demise of the noted Ghazal Maestro Jagjit Singh who died in a private hospital at Mumbai this morning.
            In a condolence message, the Chief Minister described Mr. Jagjit Singh as a ‘legendary figure and a fine human being bestowed with the qualities of head and heart who regaled the millions of music lovers with his enchanting voice not only in the country but across the globe also.  He said that Jagjit Singh’s death has created a void in the arena of music which was difficult to be filled.  Mr. Badal hoped that the rich legacy of Jagjit Singh as an iconic figure in the world of music would ever entertain and enchant millions of his music lovers through his golden voice for centuries to come.
            The Chief Minister also shared his heart-felt sympathies with the members of the bereaved family and prayed to the Almighty to give courage and strength to bear this huge loss in this hour of distress and grant peace to the departed soul.
