Panjab University organized Symposium on applications of Flow Cytometry in Biomedical research and 12th Indo-US workshop on Flow cytometry in clinical Research from 8th -12 th October . This event is organized in collaboration with Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education & Research. The meeting was inaugurated by Prof. R. C. Sobti Vice-Chancellor Panjab University, Chandigarh on 8th Oct. in Golden Jubilee Hall in Panjab University. The symposium concluded on 9th October 2011 wherein the speakers from India, USA, Australia, Singapore etc. deliberated on various aspects of the Flow Cytometry. Four awards under different categories were given to the participants. A special award by Prof. Awtar Krishan, from USA, the force behind the advancements and organization of Flow cytometry workshops in India, was also given.
The workshop having 13 different modules in biomedical and clinical applications started on 10th October and will continue till 12th October. 2011. These modules are being carried out at four different laboratories in PGI & Panjab University, where faculty from USA Singapore, Australia and India are giving wet laboratory training to the participants.
