Amritsar – In a bid to provide technically qualified manpower to the industrial sector of Punjab, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has invited technical universities of Punjab to put up their stalls at CII Destination Punjab. Officials of Punjab Technical University and Lovely Professional University stalls are acquainting Amritsar youth with the new courses coming up in the education sector both in regular and distance education mode. Students are showing much interest in the technical and entrepreneurial courses in distance education. Through its several reservation and scholarship schemes, these institutions are making education more accessible to students in rural areas as well as those from a financially deprived background, thereby doing justice to the students.
Students who visit these stalls not only get information about various courses but are also provided guidance and counseling regarding the plethora of career options by the experts to choose their stream according to their interest and ability. The CII Destination Punjab Mega fair is also catering to the educational needs of the youth. The visitors in this mega fair are getting key insights into the whole new set of courses like MBA in Fire Safety & Hazard Management, Hotel Management, Hospital Management etc
Mr. Bhuvan Sareen, Project Officer at LPU, stated that practical training is a must in this era and the students should be given practical experience before they face the outside world after college. Mr. Lakhwinder Singh, Lecturer at PTU also emphasized on new trends in education and further highlighted the importance of giving counseling to students before they enroll themselves into colleges. Many students were seen getting guidance on their subject and stream choices.
