Vice-Chancellor’s Press Conference

Amritsar- The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. A.S. Brar reiterated that the University administration is always ready to consider genuine demands of the teachers  in a specially convened Press Conference in the University Guest House this afternoon.  In the view of the statement repeatedly given by the University, the agitational attitude of the Guru Nanak Dev University Teachers Association (GNDUTA) becomes baseless.   
               Dr. (Mrs). Rajinderjit Kaur Pawar, Dean, Academic Affairs, Dr. Inderjit Singh, Registrar, Dr. MPS Isher, Dean, Students Welfare, Dr. S.S. Dhillon, Professor In charge (F & D), Dr. R.K. Mahajan, Professor In charge (Examinations), Dr. M.S. Hundal, Dean, College Development Council, Dr. A.K. Thukral, Director Research and Dr. Harish Chandar Sharma, Professor In charge (Public Relations) were present on the occasion.
Prof. Brar said that the University has always taken flexible view on the demands of the University Teachers and students.
 Responding to a question, the Vice-Chancellor said that any action against Dr G.S. Bhalla of the Department of Commerce and Business Management, can be taken only after his response to the Show Cause Notice to be issued by the University. He further said that the decision to issue Show Cause Notice to him was taken unanimously by the Syndicate and nobody had the power to withdraw or alter the decision of the Syndicate.
He said that the Headship of Dr. Balwinder Singh could be restored provided he assures that he will cooperate with the enquiry committee.
The Vice-Chancellor in reply to a query by the media denied any wrong doing in the vacation of an old dilapidated rented building of University College in Basti Nau in Jalandhar.
