ATMA RECRUITS ATTENDED ORIENTATION PROGRAMME AT PAMETI

LUDHIANA – Punjab Agricultural Management & Extension Training Institute (PAMETI) at PAU campus organized a 2-day Orientation programme for newly recruited Computer Operators under Centrally sponsored ‘Support to State Extension Programmes for Extension Reforms (ATMA) scheme from October 12-13, 2011.  Fourteen Computer Operators from different districts of the State attended the programme.
Dr M.S. Mahal, Director, PAMETI introduced them to the concept of ATMA scheme its background, objectives, strategy for its implementation and institutional set-up at village, block, district and state level. Dr S.P.S. Brar highlighted the documentation and operationalization of Strategic Research and Extension Plan (SREP) and explained cafeteria of activities under ATMA scheme. Participants were exposed to skills in official writing, role of information technology in agriculture development, evaluation process and electronic monitoring system for reporting of progress of the scheme.  They were also given technical and practical know how about the data analysis through Excel.
