BADAL LASHES OUT AT UPA GOVERNMENT FOR PUTTING AN ADDITIONAL BURDEN OF RS 800 CRORES ON THE STATE FARMERS

Doda (Gidderbaha) – Punjab Chief Minister Mr Parkash Singh Badal today slammed the Congress led UPA government at the Centre for putting an additional burden of Rs 800 crores on the beleaguered peasantry of state by recklessly hiking the cost of agricultural inputs especially the fertilisers.
Addressing the media persons during the sidelines of Sangat Darshan programme of the Gidderbaha Assembly segment organized here today, the Chief Minister said that the single point agenda of the UPA government was to ruin the farmers of the state, despite of the fact that they
had made country self sufficient in food production. Coming down heavily on the UPA government Mr Badal said that the Union government was intriguing to bring Punjab at the bank of economic disaster through its anti- Punjab stance and discriminating policies. He said that exorbitant hike in prices of fertilizers and other agricultural inputs like diesel, the Union government had broken the back of the farmers, rendering them to at the mercy of the Centre.
        Training his guns against former Punjab Finance Minister and his nephew Mr Manpreet Singh Badal, the Chief Minister asserted that the PPP leader had committed political suicide by leaving the party which had groomed him politically. He said that party was supreme and no
individual was above it. Mr Badal also criticized Mr Manpreet Singh Badal from keeping him and his family completely insulated from the people of Gidderbaha by never allowing him to add Gidderbaha in his iternary. However the Chief Minister assured the people that he would now satiate to make all efforts to cherish the aspirations of the residents of Gidderbaha to change the fate of region, which had been
knowingly ignored by the four times MLA.  The Chief Minister also thanked the people for supporting them candidates of the SAD in the recently concluded general elections for the Shiromani Gurudwara Prabhandak Committee (SGPC). He asserted that  the verdict of people in the way they had denounced the candidates of Congress sponsored Panthic morcha, had once again proved that SAD was the only votary of the well being of panth. Mr Badal further said that
the entire state Congress leadership and its cronies would meet the same fate and eventually would be wiped out from the scene.
        Asked to comment on SAD-BJP’s prospects in the coming assembly elections in the state, Mr Badal reiterated that we would certainly stage come back by routing the Congress party from the state which was “writing on the wall”.  He claimed that due to the wrong policies of the Congress the people were keen to teach the Congress and its arrogant leadership lesson in the ensuing assembly polls in Punjab.
“Unprecedented development in just four and a half years during our regime as compared to Congress rule of above 30 years would certainly tilt the balance in our favour, as the power hungry Congress through its cheap tactics could not befool the innocent voters anymore ”  Mr
Badal added.
        Meanwhile, the Chief Minister gave away 39 and 146 bicycles to the girls students at village Mana and Doda respectively under the flagship programme of Mai Bhago Education Scheme during his day long Sangat Darshan programme. Addressing the gathering Mr Badal said that
the state government was committed for imparting quality education for the girls to empower them so that they could become ideal citizens of the society.
Meanwhile the Chief Minister disbursed a grant of Rs 1.75 crores for the development of 10 villages during the Sangat Darshan.
