LITERARY AND FINE ARTS ITEMS ORGANISED AT PAU YOUTH FEST

LUDHIANA –  The third day of Inter-College Youth Festival, currently underway at PAU, witnessed the enthusiastic participation of the students in various competitions including photography, on-spot painting, elocution/extempore and rangoli. Students of the PAU Colleges – Agriculture (COA), Agricultural Engineering and Technology (COAE&T), Basic Sciences and Humanities (COBS&H) and Home Science (COHS), displayed their creative abilities in fine arts and literary items.
Speaking on this occasion, the chief guest Dr PPS Lubana, Dean, College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, PAU, said that extra curricular activities are integral part of education. They play a vital role in all-round development of the students. Dr Lubana exhorted the youth to give their best in all fields of life and wished them good luck for future.
In his presidential remarks, Dr D.S. Cheema, Director Students’ Welfare, PAU, said that the fest provides an opportunity for the students to their demonstrate talent on a wide range of items. He informed that the main inauguration of the youth festival will take place on October 21 at 10.00 a.m.
Addressing the gathering, the guest of honour Dr T.S. Thind, Additional Director of Research, PAU, said that the spirit of participation in cultural events is more important than winning prizes. He appreciated the performance of the students in the literary items and laid emphasis on preserving the moral values and ethics.
Dr J.S. Mahal, Estate Officer, PAU, and Dr Jaspal Singh, Chief Engineer, PAU, also presided over various events.
