New Delhi is opening a Passport Seva Kendra at 14

The Government of India, Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi is  opening a Passport Seva Kendra at 14, Mall Road, Amritsar which will work under the Passport Officer, Amritsar and cover eight districts viz. Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Tarn Taran, Ferozepur, Faridkot, Shri Muktsar Sahib, Fazilka, Pathankot for passport related services.  The soft launch is scheduled to take place on 24-10-2011.  Shri Muktesh K. Pardeshi, J.S.(PSP) & Chief Passport Officer, Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi will cut the ribbon and light a lamp at 11-00 AM.  Er. Shri Shwait Malik, Mayor of Amritsar, Shri R.P. Mittal, Commissioner of Police, Amritsar and Shri Rajat Aggarwal, Deputy Commissioner, Amritsar will be the Guests of Honour at the function.  The Media (Audio-Visual/Print) is also cordially invited to the function.
2.    Passport Seva Kendra is a facilitation center being opened under the Passport Seva Project with technical support & manpower from Tata Consultancy Services. This is a model project under the National eGovernance plan of the Government of India.  The Vision is to deliver all Passport related services to the citizens in a timely, transparent, more accessible, reliable manner and in a comfortable environment through streamlined processes and committed, trained & motivated workforce.
