DA TO BE PAID IN CASH FROM NOVEMBER 1
CHANDIGARH – As a Diwali Bonanza to its employees and pensioners, the Punjab government today announced to release another installment of dearness allowance (DA) of 7% thereby enhancing it from 51 percent to 58 percent w.e.f. July 1, 2011 on the pattern of Central Government Employees.
Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s Office said that the Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal cleared the file in this regard late last evening. The enhanced DA of 7 percent would put an additional burden of Rs.445 crore on the state exchequer for the remaining period of current financial year.
Adding further the spokesperson said that the arrears of the DA till 31st October 2011 would be deposited in the GPF of the employees and would be paid in cash from November 1, 2011.
