Students of DPS, Amritsar participating in Rangoli making and other competitions in school to mark Diwali celebrations

Amritsar – Diwali is not simply about lighting diyas, bursting crackers and relishing good food. It is also about enlightenment of soul and burning all your bad times. It is about coming over the darkness of ignorance and stepping into a cleaner and brighter world.
To commemorate this magnificent event, Delhi Public School prearranged a special assembly based on the theme ‘Diwali’ which was organised by the Student Council. It was different from the other assemblies which made it unique in its own way. This assembly was indeed a classic entertainer for the children and they had a great time being the spectators.
There were other pursuits as well that were planned for the students to secure an unforgettable Diwali celebration. A rangoli making competition was held for class 9th and 10th in which a group of students designed one rangoli to represent their class. The winners were awarded prizes as well. Making greeting cards, slogan writing, paintings on Diwali etc were also some of the activities programmed for the students. Classes 6, 7 and 8th were given chance to exhibit their talent through door decoration and pillar decoration. In accordance with that, a havan was also conducted in the school premises. This was a traditional method of celebrating this auspicious festival.
