*CM HOLDS SANGAT DARSHAN AT KAPURTHALA ASSEMBLY SEGMENT
*DISBURSES GRANT OF RS 3.50 CRORE

Kapurthala – Punjab Chief Minister Mr Parkash Singh Badal today said that state Congress leaders were misleading the people by making false claims regarding the inauguration of the Khalsa Heritage Complex at Sri Anandpur Sahib, whereas in reality this project is yet to be completed.
Talking to the media persons after Sangat Drashan programme of the Kapurthala assembly constituency, Mr Badal said that due to spectacular achievements of the SAD-BJP regime the Congress leaders were facing dearth of issues against them, baffled over which they are resorting to cheap tactics of creating a sham over the issue of inauguration of this Heritage complex. Training guns against former Punjab Chief Minister and state Congress Chief Captain Amarinder Singh, the Chief Minister said that it was very unfortunate that he was giving misleading statements over the issue by claiming that he had inaugurated it way back in the year 2006. “How can he inaugurate the project in 2006, when it was not completed at that time” questioned Mr Badal.

The Chief Minister reiterated that the Prime Minister must visit the state for inaugurating this important project which he termed was “One of the wonders of the world”. However he said that it was very unfortunate that instead of welcoming the Prime Minister to the state the Congress leadership of Punjab was creating hindrances in his proposed visit. Mr Badal also said that the manner in which Congress leaders were criticizing their own Prime Minister in the media reflects the negativity in their minds. “This clearly depicts that the entire Congress leadership was against the ongoing development in the state” he added.
Slamming the Congress leaders for opposing the state government for organizing the Kabaddi world cup, the Chief Minister said that the sole aim of organizing the mega event was to promote the sport which was the “mother game of Punjabis”. On a query regarding the criticism by the Congress leaders regarding the hoisting of the mega event, Mr Badal said that it depicts the frustration of the Congress leaders adding that its the duty of the state government to preserve its cultural heritage by organizing such events. “World renowned companies have been engaged to organize the event just to ensure that the popularity of Kabaddi can be enhanced globally’ he added.
He further asserted that during the present tenure of their government unparalleled development has taken place in every sphere of the state upset over which the Congress leaders are issuing baseless statements against the government. However the Chief Minister said that people are aware of the dubious character of the Congress leaders and they would teach them a lesson in the coming state assembly elections.
Making a scathing attack on the Congress led UPA government at the centre the Chief Minister said that due to its total failure in providing security to the countrymen, the Union government has lost its right to rule the country. Mr Badal said that owing to the lapses in security of the borders on the one hand many precious lives were being lost in frequent bomb explosions across the country and on the other hand the Chinese intrusion in the territory of the country had posed serious question mark on sovereignty of the country. "The life and property of the people was in danger but the Union government was virtually not doing anything" added Mr Badal.
Listing the achievements of the SAD-BJP government in the state the Chief Minister said that the biggest achievement of their government has been that it has ensured communal harmony and peace in the state despite of the fact that all the other parts of the country are facing this severe problem. Mr Badal said that despite of being a border state their government has assured that no untoward incident takes place in the state by ensuring proper law and order.
During the Sangat Darshan the Chief Minister disbursed a grant of Rs 3.50 crore to 98 village Panchayats for developmental works. Earlier the Chief Minister laid down the foundation stone of the District Administrative Complex, District Judicial Complex and the project to ensure water supply and sewerage facility in the city. Meanwhile the SAD got a major shot in arm when three Councilors led by President of the Municipal Council Mr Paramjeet Singh Pamma returned to the party fold by leaving the PPP. Welcoming them Mr Badal said that they would be duly accommodated in the party folds.
Prominent amongst those present on the occasion included MLA Mr Sarabjeet Singh Makkar, President State Traders Board Mr Narottam Dev Ratti, SGPC Member Mr Jarnail Singh Dogranwala and Chairman Kapurthala Improvemnet Trust Mr Hira Lal Dheer.
