IMPROVED SEEDS OF WHEAT VARIETIES AVAILABLE ON SUBSIDY AT PAU

LUDHIANA – The improved seeds of wheat varieties namely PBW 502, PBW 550, DBW 17 and PBW 343 are available at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU). Informing this, Dr S.S. Gosal, Director of Research, PAU, said that the State Government has announced a subsidy of Rs 500/- per quintal on these seeds. To get subsidized seeds, the farmers are required to fill a form which is available with the PAU Director (Seeds) or the Chief Agricultural Officers at district headquarters. He further said that the form should be attested by the Sarpanch or the Nambardar of the village. The seeds are available with the Chief Agricultural Officers or PAU Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs). Besides, the seeds are also available at the varsity seed farms located at Narayangarh, Nabha, Faridkot, Kapurthala and Ladhowal. Dr Gosal has urged the farmers to avail of this facility.
