TRAINING ON CROP PRODUCTION CONCLUDES AT PAU

LUDHIANA – A three-month training programme on “Crop Production,” organized by the PAU Directorate of Extension Education for the rural youth, concluded here today. About 46 ruralites from different parts of the Punjab participated in this programme.
Speaking on this occasion, the chief guest Dr M.S.Gill, Director of Extension Education, PAU, asked the youth to utilize the expertise of PAU scientists and make vital contribution in the field of agriculture and its allied sectors. He advised the youth to adopt innovative technologies for lucrative agriculture. Dr Gill distributed the certificates to the participants.
Dr Tejinder Singh Riar, Course Coordinator, said that during the training course, trainees were equipped with scientific knowledge about crop production, horticulture, vegetables, insect pests and disease management, animal husbandry, bee-keeping, mushroom cultivation and other farm related activities. He informed that such type of training programmes are organized twice a year for the benefit of the rural youth.   The Incharge of Kairon Kisan Ghar, Dr J.S. Bhalla proposed the vote of thanks.
