Bathinda – Dr. Dilbagh Singh Hira, a renowned educationist and a able administrative joined today as founder Vice Chancellor of Guru Kashi University Talwandi Sabo (Bathinda).
A spokesman of the university said that his appointment was made by University Management yesterday.
Dr. Hira , a Ph.D in Manufacturing Sciences from IIT Roorkee, has a vast experience to manage prestigious Educational Institutions of the region in various capacities including SUS group of Institutions Tangori, BBSBEC Fatahgarh Sahib, GZS College of Engg and Technology Bathinda, Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology and Guru Nanak Dev Engg. college, Ludhiana. He is an active member of various professional and academic bodies such as Institutions of Engineers India, Punjab Science Congress, system Society of India, Executive council of Indian Society for Technical Education and presently he is serving a Senior Vice President of ISTE.
Dr. DS Hira was honored with various prestigious awards including Honorary Fellowship of ISTE for his outstanding Contributions ion in the field of technical Education and Rashtarya Gaurav award for outstanding achievements and contributions. He has more than 50 research papers and 5 text books to his credit.
It is pertinent to mention here that Guru Kashi University is recently established by Bala Ji Educational Trust, managed by Dr. JS Dhaliwal. Gurlabh Singh Sidhu and Er. Sukhwinder Singh Sidhu, runs number of Educational Institutions in Punjab including Shaheed Udham Singh Group of Institutions, Tangori. The newly established university will be a Multi Disciplinary University having under graduate, post graduate and doctorate courses.
