Public Colloquium of Fundamental Duties

The Himachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority in association with Department of Language and Culture, Public Relations Society of India, Shimla chapter and SEWA Trust is organizing ninth Public Colloquium on fundamental Duty enshrined in Article 51 (A) (i) of the Constitution of India which provides that "it shall be the duty of every citizen of India to safeguard public property and to abjure violence."
The Colloquium will be held at the H.P. University Auditorium on Sunday 13th November, 2011 at 2.00 P.M.
Hon"ble Mr. Justice Kurian Joseph, the Chief Justice of the High Court of Himachal Pradesh will preside over this colloquium. Hon’ble Mr. Justice V.K. Sharma, Judge, High Court of Himachal Pradesh will deliver the keynote address. Executive Chairman of the HP State Legal Services Authority Hon’ble Mr. Justice R.B. Misra will deliver the welcome address and brief about the purpose and objective of the Colloquium.
Shri Kaul Singh Thakur, State President Indian National Congress; Shri Suresh Bhardwaj  local MLA (BJP); Shri Tikender Panwar, Member State Secretariat CPM and Shri Vijay Nayyar, Advocate and State President of BSP will speak on the occasion. Representatives of student wings namely Mr. Sanjeev Walia, spokesperson of NSUI, Mr. Naveen Sharma, State Organizing Secretary of ABVP, Dr. Vikram, State Secretary of SFI will also express their views on the issue.
Office bearers and members of trade unions, NGO federations and other associations will participate in the open discussion. The participants will take a pledge to respect and protect public property.
The event will be attended by a large number of office bearers of political parties, their student wings, office bearers and members of various associations, unions and federations, students and general public.
