Amritsar, November 26, 2011 : The local Khalsa College has stood second by gaining 72 marks in the overall Inter-College Athletic Championship which concluded at Guru Nanak Dev University today. The college athletes got 8 gold, 7 silver and many bronze medals in the championship, enabling the college to stay runner-up in the annual varsity meet. College Principal, Dr. Daljit Singh congratulated the players and persuaded them to work more in their fields. He felt happy because last year the college has gained just 32 marks and had improved a lot this year. He attributed the success of the college students in the championship to the improving sports infrastructure on the campus and the hard work of the players, coaches and staff of Sports Department including its Incharge, S. Bachanpal Singh.
