Amritsar, 28 November, 2011 :  9 Chambers of Commerce and Industry from Pakistan have confirmed their participation in PHD –Punjab International Trade Expo, PHD-PITEX 2011 stated R S Sachdeva, Co-Chairman, Punjab Committee, PHD Chamber.  PHD- PITEX 2011 is being organized by PHD Chamber from 1st to 5th December, 2011 at Ranjit Avenue, Amritsar. Sachdeva informed that the 9 Chambers include: Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sheikhpura Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sargodha Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Abotabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Informing that these Chambers of Commerce and Industry shall have one to one interactions with various industry associations of Punjab for furthering the common cause of bilateral business, Dalip Sharma, Regional Director, PHD Chamber said that PHD Chamber has a firm belief that the sound bilateral trade is an all-time solution to the disturbed scenario between both the countries.
The participating industry associations from Punjab include Mohali Industries Association, Engineering Exports Promotion Council, Ludhiana Sewing Machines Manufacturers Association, Focal Point Industries Association, Rice Exporters Association, apart from the Amritsar based Textiles Manufacturers Association and Shawl Club, he said.
“Being a part of the integrated approach towards better trade ties, such interactions play the role of a catalyst”, said Rajiv Bali, Chairman, Punjab Committee, PHD Chamber.
The constant growth in the number of overseas visitors and exhibitors each season of PHD-PITEX, especially from Pakistan, is a bare testimony to this fact, he said.
PITEX 2011 is a favourite with the Pakistani exhibitors. More than 800 visa requests from Pakistani traders to visit PHD-PITEX 2011 have already been recommended. Pakistan Commerce Minister, Makhdoom Muhammad Amin Fahim has also agreed to participate in the State Event PITEX for an interactive session on “Bilateral Trade Relations with Pakistan”, informed Sharma. Jaideep Singh, Convener, Amritsar Zone, PHD Chamber said that local residents of Amritsar eagerly await the visit of Pakistani exhibitors and the products, especially Onyx marble, Pakistani textiles, juttis, handicrafts, and not to forget, the Pakistani food.
