Shimla, November 30 : Shri Jai Ram Thakur, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister said here today that directions had been issued to all the BDOs and District Panchayat Officers for providing training to the elected PRIs representatives for the second phase. He said that on the demand of PRIs representatives, the Government had taken a decision to give honorarium of Rs. 100 per day adding that it would be applicable to only those trainees who would attend all the sessions regularly.
He said that three days training programme includes financial management, implementation and management of development works by the panchayats etc. He said that as many as 27582 elected representatives would participate in the training and an expenditure of Rs. 1.5 crore would be spent on the same.
The Minister said that the Government would provide training to PRIs representatives from time to time and had approved Rs. 28.50 crore for training during five years.
