Amritsar, December 1, 2011: A Lecture on “AIDS” by Dr. Krishna Murari Tripathi was organised by Red Ribbon Club on world AIDS Day at Khalsa College For women, Amritsar. Principal Dr. Sukhbir Kaur Mahal welcomed the speaker. Dr.Tripathi in his lecture said that Aids is a silent invader. Reported in 1980 it has invaded almost all the countries and much needs to be done in the research and cure field. Enlightening on the disease Dr.Tripathi said that AIDS is caused by the infection known as Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV).
Dr.Tripathi also focused on social, moral and psychological implications of AIDS
(especially on women & children).Principal Dr. Sukhbir Kaur Mahal thanked Dr.Tripathi for his expository and said that more and more people especially the youth need to be made aware of the causes of disease.
