Amritsar, December 2– The election of Guru Nanak Dev University Teachers Association (GNDUTA) of the University would be held on December 7, 2011. Prof. Paramjit Kaur Dhindsa from Punjab School of Economics of the University has been nominated Retuning Officer.
Dr. Rajinderjit Kaur Pawar, Dean, Academic Affairs of the University said that Dr. Balwinder Singh (Department of Commerce and Business Management) and Dr. Tarlok Singh Banipal (Department of Chemistry) would contest for the post of President. Dr. Amarjit Singh Soodan (Department of Botanical and Environmental Sciences) and Dr. Darya (School of Punjabi Studies) would be candidate for Vice-President of the Association.
She said that for the post of Secretary, there would be contest between Dr. Jagrup Singh Sekhon (Department of Political Science) and Dr. Lakhwinder Singh (Department of Commerce and Business Management).
Similarly, for Joint Secretary, Dr. Aziz Abbas (Department of Urdu and Persian and Dr. Nareshpal Singh Saini (Department of Physics) are the candidates.
She said that Dr. R.S.S. Kaler (Department of Food Science and Technology) and Dr Shyamal Koley (Department of Sports Medicine and Physiotherapy) would be contesting for the post of Treasurer.
She said that for the post of Executive Members Dr. Adarsh Pal Vig (Department of Botanical and Environmental Sciences), Dr. Balmeet Singh Gill (Department of Food Science and Technology), Dr. B.S. Hundal (Department of Commerce and Business Management), Dr. Dalbir Singh (Department of Sanskrit), Dr. Davinder Singh (Department of Psychology, Dr. Derick Engles (Electronics Technology), Dr. Harmeet Singh (Department of Political Science), Sh. Manjit Singh (Department of Electronics Technology, Regional Campus, Jalandhar), Dr. M.S. Gill (Department of Sociology), Dr. Rajinder Singh Sandhu (Department of Political Science), Sh. Vikram (Department of Commerce and Business Management) and Dr. Viney Kapoor (Department of Laws) are in the field.
She said that Dr. Sukhwant Singh, Department of History would conduct the elections at Jalandhar while Dr. K.S. Kahlon, Department of Computer Science & Engineering would conduct the elections at Gurdaspur. She said that Dr. Jaspal Singh, Head, Department of Laws would conduct election at ASSM College, Mukandpur.
