Ludhiana: 3 Dec.:49th annual Alumni Meet of College of Agriculture was observed with great fervor. In this meet alumni from Newzeland, Canada, America take part. In this alumni meet eight member delegations under the espionage of oldest alumni from Pakistan Dr. Hafiz Abdul Qyum also joined . This delegation was warmly welcomed by officials and Students of University. Dr.Mustaq Ahmed, Dr. Fariq Anjum Chaudari, Dr. Muhammed Amjed, Dr. Muhammed Iqbal, Dr. Muhammed Julal and Dr. Vkas vakil were also accompanying Dr. Qyum.
While welcoming the delegation Vice Chancellor of Punjab Agricultural University said that partition of Punjab was unfortunate and the trauma of the partition was bear by the people of Punjab mainly. Traditions, culture, folklores of people from East and West Punjab are alike. He further said that he wish that a research Institute should be established on the Borders so that farming community of both the countries may be benefited from it. In the evening session a special poetic recitation competition of students was held, in which formers Director of Extension Education Dr. Sarjit Singh Gill was Judge. Beside that a cultural programe depicting rich cultural of both Punjab were arranged for the guests. This programme was highly apriciated by the participating alumni and delegation from Punjab.
