Brigadier (Retd) Manjit Singh assumed charge

Chandigarh:December 7 : Brigadier (Retd) Manjit Singh has assumed the charge of Director Sainik Welfare, Punjab. Disclosing this here today a spokesman of the Punjab Government said that Brigadier (Retd.) Manjit Singh was commissioned on December 21, 1975. He has held very challenging and selective appointments, both in staff and command. His staff appointments include Colonel GS (Human Rights) of an insurgency Force, Colonel GS (Media & PR) of a largest Corps deployed in an Intensive Insurgency prone area of J&K and President of a large cantonment as Dy GOC. Commanded infantry unt in active counter insurgency area in the East and also participated in Kargil War. Paltan was awarded Unit Citation under his stewardship.He is a graduate of Staff College and Senior Defence Management Course. His civil qualifications include Msc, MBA and Post Graduate Diplomas in Human Resource Management, Computer Application, Strategic & Financial Management.   An expert in human rights, media, geo – political and security affairs specialising in J&K, Pakistan and China.
