Ludhiana 07- Dec, 2011 : Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University is holding its First Convocation on 9th December, 2011 at Pal Auditorium, PAU Campus, Ludhiana. Dr. P.D.Juyal. Registrar GADVASU informed that the students will assemble for rehearsal on 8th December, 2011 at 9.00 a.m. in the Pal Auditorium. A total of 417 students will be conferred degrees who have completed their programme since the inception of University to 15th November, 2011. This will include 31 Ph.D, 133 M.V.Sc., 9 M.V.Sc./M.Sc. (Animal Biotech.), 3 M.F.Sc. and 241 B.V.Sc. & A.H. degrees. Ten gold medals i.e. four Dr. S.C.Dutt and two Dr.S.S.Dhillon in Master’s degree and four University gold medals for B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree shall also be awarded to the meritorious students for their performance in their respective programme. Dr. S. Ayyappan, Secretary to Govt. of India, Department of Agricultural Research & Education and Director General, Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi shall be Chief Guest on this occasion and deliver the convocation address.
