YOUTH STREGTHENING BOND BETWEEN INDO-PAK – DR QAYYUM

LUDHIANA, DECEMBER 7: Dr H.A. Qayyum, Prof. and Senior most alumnus from Pakistan, while interacting with the students of the art and culture of the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), said that the younger generation is strengthening the bond between India and Pakistan.
Speaking at the function organized by the PAU Directorate Students’ Welfare, Dr Qayyum said that the need of the hour is to have global existence and youth should be worldly wise. He added that youth is the future of the country. Exchanging views about both the Punjabs (India and Pakistan), he exhorted the generation Y to remain attached to their mother tongue.Earlier, Dr D.S. Cheema, Director Students’ Welfare, PAU, welcomed the Pakistan delegates and the participants. Appreciating the efforts of the Pak Professors in enhancing the knowledge of the students, he said that the same would be helpful in shaping their future personalities. He presented a set of PAU Publications to the delegation members including Dr M.J. Arif, Dr M. Ahmad, Dr K. Mustafa, Dr F.M.A. Chaudhary, Dr A.A. Tiwana, Dr M. Amjad, Dr M. Iqbal and Dr W. Wakil.
Dr Nirmal Jaura, Coordinator, Cultural Activities, PAU, highlighted that alongwith the agricultural knowledge; students of the PAU have also won laurels in cultural and sports activities.Dr Qayyum distributed the certificates  to the winners of North-Zone Inter University Youth Festival.  The mime team of the PAU clinched second position. During the event, students also demonstrated their talent and skills through literary, theatre and music items.
