6000 posts of Teachers being filled –Education Minister

Shri I.D. Dhiman, Education Minister said here today that as many as 14000 posts of teachers had been filled and the process of filling up 6000 posts was underway.
He was presiding over a meeting of H.P. Government Teachers Union.
He said that a sum of Rs. 3164.54 crore was being spent in education sector which was 597.54 crore more than the last financial year. He said that the State Government was endeavouring to provide quality education to the students and  all the infrastructure facilities were being provided in educational  institutions of  the State, adding that, the State Government was implementing Information Communication Technology Project in 628 Government Senior Secondary Schools in the State with the objective to strengthen the teaching-learning activities and prepare the students to compete in various competitions.
Education Minister said that the main aim of rationalization of education in the schools was to improve the teacher-student ratio. He urged the teaching community to be ready to face the challenges in the field of education and should keep themselves updated with latest technology in education sector. Besides, he also urged the teachers to motivate the students to enroll themselves so that they may not be deprived of quality education.
Shri Dhiman said that the State Government was fulfilling all the genuine demands of the teachers on priority and was also providing financial benefits from time to time.
President of the Union apprised the Minister about the demands of the teachers.
Shri K. Sanjay Murthy, Secretary, Education, Dr. O.P. Sharma, Director, Education and Shri Rajeev Sharma, Director, Elementary Education were also present on the occasion among others.
