Amritsar, December 08 : A workshop was conducted by Ms. HARPREET DUSANJH and Mrs. SURBHI SETHI , Assistant Professor in Commerce, for the students of Department of Commerce, BBK DAV College for Women during Punjab International Trade Expo (PITEX), 2011.
They made the students to explore the problems of self-help groups and women entrepreneurs who exhibited stalls in NSIC (NATIONAL SMALL INDUSTRIES CORPORATION) hall of PITEX and interviewed various women entrepreneurs of such small industries. An in depth discussion revealed that they were facing problems such as lack of support from family, finance as well as marketing. Apart from this, government support was also required to be augmented in Punjab to make women entrepreneurs earning hand of the family. They felt need of training to enhance quality of the products produced by them.
Principal Dr.(Mrs.) Neelam Kamra, Head of Deptt. Prof. A.K DHIR & Dr.(Mrs.) Neeru Chadha congratulated the students on successful completion of the workshop and motivated them to conduct many such workshops in future.
