OF LAMBI AND GIDDERBAHA ASSEMBLY SEGMENTS
Gidderbaha, December 9- Punjab Chief Minister Mr Parkash Singh Badal today categorically said that former state Finance Minister and PPP leader Mr Manpreet Singh
Badal had stabbed his mother party, the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) by joining the hands with Congress in a clandestine manner. Addressing public meetings during Sangat Darshan program in the villages falling in Lambi and Giddrebaha assembly segments, the Chief Minister reiterated that his nephew had blemished the prestige and image of the “Badal family” by betraying his mother party. Mr Badal said that his family has rendered selfless services to the party so far but the PPP leader had parted his ways with it to pursue his vested political agenda. He said that though SAD had offered everything to Manpreet but unfortunately he had joined hands with the Congress in a covert manner to tarnish the sanguine image of the SAD. The Chief Minister further said that the former Finance Minister was perhaps living in utopia that he could endanger the electoral prospects of SAD in the coming assembly polls but in reality people of Punjab would teach him a tough lesson in the upcoming assembly polls. Training his guns against the Congress party, the Chief Minister said that though this party had always projected itself as the votary of common man but it has not done anything for the welfare of this stratum of society. But contrary to it, he said that the present SAD-BJP regime of the state has initiated a number of welfare and pro-people schemes which have largely benefited the poor section of the society. The Chief Minister also said that the for the first time in the history of state a whopping budget has been kept for giving facilities under the social security schemes to them as the SAD-BJP alliance was sensitized to the grass root problems of the society. Making a scathing attack on Congress the Chief Minister said that it had never done anything tangible for the development of state but have rather opposed it for their vested interests. He said that it was very unfortunate that rather than contributing for the progress of the state the Congress leaders have always maneuvered to vitiate the atmosphere of the state by irrelevantly meddling in the social, political, economic and even the religious affairs of Punjab. “The most regrettable thing is that instead of extending a helping hand to
us the Congress leaders have always tried to derail the development process of the state, by opposing it” he added. The Chief Minister reiterated unparalleled development had taken place in the state especially in sectors of Health, education and Infra structure adding that due to untiring efforts of their government the state would soon become a power surplus state. The Chief Minister further said that extraordinary development of the state during the current regime of the SAD-BJP along with communal harmony and peace would be the main poll plank of the alliance in the coming assembly polls. Meanwhile the Chief Minister announced that a Cotton based mega project worth Rs 1400 crore would be set up at village Panjaava, which would provide employment opportunities to a number of people. Likewise he said that in order to lay down pipes for supplying river water to village Wading Kheda, Ghumiara and Killianwali the work was already going on at the cost of Rs 6 crore and would be completed by the coming January 15th. The Chief Minister also disbursed 41 bicycles to the school going girls at village Killinawali under the Mai Bhago Vidya Scheme. He also distributed grant worth Rs 2 crore for
development works in villages falling in both the constituencies.
