PAU TO ORGANISE THREE TRAINING COURSES IN DECEMBER

LUDHIANA, DECEMBER 9:- The Directorate of Extension Education of the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) will organise three training courses in the month of December for the farmers and farm women. All the training programmes will be held at Kairon Kisan Ghar (KKG), PAU.
Giving details, Dr M.S. Gill, Director of Extension Education, PAU, told that the   course on “Enhancing creative skills among children through indigenous materials” will be held from December 12-14. Involving the participation of 30 participants, the PAU extension specialists of the Departments of Human Development, Clothing and Textiles, and Family Resource Management would apprise the farm women of the significance of creativity in development of children and ways for its enhancement, informed Dr Gill. Besides imparting theoretical knowledge, the subject-matter specialists will give demonstrations on various embroidery stitches, CD craft, preparation of simple and designer candle and greeting card making. Dr Gill told that an interactive session will be held where all the queries of the participants will be responded by the experts. The registration for the course will take place on December 12 at 9.00 a.m. at the scheduled venue of the programme. He further informed that Dr (Mrs) Rupinder Kaur will be the Course Coordinator while Dr (Mrs) Sukhminder Kaur, Dr (Mrs) H.K. Saggu and Dr (Mrs) Surinderjit Kaur will be the Technical Coordinators.
Meanwhile, another training programme on “Grain storage and management” will be organised for the officials of Punjab State Civil Supplies Corporation Limited (PUNSUP) from December 13-16. About 40 trainees will participate in this course, told Dr Gill. To impart training to the Agricultural Officers (AOs), Agricultural Development Officers (ADOs), Horticulture Development Officers (HDOs), District Extension Specialists (DESs) and scientists of Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), the training courses on “High density planting canopy management in fruit crops” and “Concept of farming system and its limitations” will be organized on December 15-16 and December 20-21, respectively. Dr Gill further told that Dr V.K. Bhambota will be Course Coordinator while Drs P.S. Aulakh and Surjit Singh will be Technical Coordinators for the courses.
