Punjab Govt. seeks applications to appointing State Information Commissioners

Chandigarh, December 9: The Punjab Government today invited applications for the recruitment of State Information Commissioners upto 16 December, 2012. This decision has been taken in the meeting of Search Committee, held under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary Mr. S.C. Aggarwal.
Disclosing this here today an official Spokesman said that under the provisons of Right to Information Act, 2005 Section 15 (5) (6) and Section 16 (2), the State Chief Information Commissioner and the State Information Commissioners shall be persons of eminence in public life with wide knowledge and experience in law, science and technology, social service, management, journalism, mass media or administration and governance.
He said that the application could be submitted in the office of Principal Secretary Information Technology, Room No. 8, Level 3, Punjab Civil Secretariat, Chandigarh.
Search Committee met under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary Mr. S.C. Aggarwal. Others members Mr. A.R. Talwar, Principal Secretary and Mr. B.S. Dhaliwal, Retired Lieutenant General were present in the meeting.
