UPA Govt must draft Lok Pal Bill in same manner as advocated by Anna Hazaare- Badal

 UNPARALLELED DEVELOPMENT HAS TAKEN PLACE IN THE STATE DURING THE SAD-BJP RULE

Bathinda, 11 December 2011 (bharatSandesh News):–  The Punjab Chief Minister Mr Parkash Singh Badal today strongly emphasized that the Congress led UPA government must draft the Lok Pal Bill in the same manner as advocated by social activist Mr Anna Hazaare, so that rampant corruption in the country could be nailed efficiently.

            Talking to the media persons after presiding over a function organized by the Dhanak Samaj here today, the Chief Minister reiterated the commitment of the SAD-BJP alliance for enacting a strong Lok Pall Bill so that countrymen could get a reprieve from widespread corruption in the society. Advocating the enactment of a strong and powerful Lok Pal Bill as desired by Mr Anna Hazaare, he said that the bill that is to be passed by the Union government must be in accordance to the guidelines backed by the veteran Gandhian so that the basic purpose of passing the bill is fulfilled. The Chief Minister said that it must be flawless and strong so that on one hand it could play an effective role in weeding out the corruption and the other hand it could play a pivotal role in punishing the erring public servants involved in such practices. “Only the Lok Pal Bill advocated by Anna Hazaare could well serve the purpose effectively checking the corruption in the society” he added.

            Earlier addressing the gathering Mr Badal said that it was irony of the fate that though Congress claims to be champion for safeguarding the rights of common man but on the contrary it was indulging in their sheer exploitation for its own vested interests. He said the maladies like unemployment, illiteracy, poverty and inflation had enormously affected the life of common man. Mr Badal said that due to the Union government’s policy of gross discrimination and apathy towards poor and downtrodden sections of people this important part of our society is on the brink of economic disaster.

Condemning the Congress of neck deep in rampant corruption and misdeeds, the Chief Minister said that people were fed up from the scams and scandals which were the order of the day in Congress led UPA government.

             Listing out the achievements of SAD-BJP government in the state, the Chief Minister said that unparalleled development has taken place in the state especially in sectors of Health, education and basic Infra structure adding that due to untiring efforts of their government the state would soon become a power surplus state. He also said that the for the first time in the history of state a whopping budget has been kept for giving facilities under the social security to the poor people. Likewise he said that for the first time in history of the state Rs 4000 crore has been spent on the providing basic civic amenities to the cities across the state.

            Prominent amongst those present on the occasion included Lok Sabha MP Mrs Harsimrat Kaur Badal and SAD Leader Mr Sarup Chand Singla.
