AMRITSAR/RAJASANSI, DECEMBER 12: Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal, Deputy Chief Minister, Punjab today said that the time has come for electorates of Punjab to make a choice between performers and non-performers and put a step of approval on development vision of SAD-BJP for next 25 years.
    Speaking to media persons after addressing a rally and inaugurating the S. Raminder Singh Bularia memorial park set up at the cost of Rs. 5 crore  here today in Amritsar South Constituency, Mr. Badal said that we have laid bare the ledger of our performance of development in all fields before the public of Punjab versus the zero performance of previous Congress government and it was for the people of Punjab to make a choice whether they want an era of accelerated growth for next five year or retardation and stagnation of economy under congress rule. He said that daily we are putting the factual comparative position of performance on different fronts before the people, which even congress party also couldn’t deny. He said that Punjab has witnessed development and growth on every front during last five years including 6669 crore investment in road sector, Rs 414 crore on construction of 42 ROBs and flyovers, Rs 19000 crore Bathinda Refinery giving employment to 37,000 youth, Rs 3715 crore on improvement of irrigation network, Rs 418 crore relining of minors and congress has nil report to showcase. He said that against recruitment of 2000 contractual temporary teachers, SAD-BJP government has recruited more than one lakh youth including 60,000 in education department and 20,000 in police department. He said that the recruitment during SAD-BJP government was online, totally on merit and done in a most transparent way.
    Mr. Badal said that Captain Amarinder Singh has nothing to show except his pleasure trips to Dubai and Dochi. 
    Laying the foundation stone of Rs 300 crore transportation POD system, Mr. Badal congratulated the people of Amritsar for being first in the country to have POD system. He said that the construction of this project would be completed in 18 months and this would put this religious city of Amritsar on international tourist map. He also gave the demonstration of the POD system and said that it would be the most non-intrusive system and Memorandum of Understanding for setting up POD has been already signed with the British Company.
    Mr. Badal said that Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal had adopted City Amritsar as his pet city for focusing development. He said that Amritsar received step motherly treatment from Congress party is evidence from the fact that Amarinder regime gaved Rs 38 crore to Amritsar MC whereas SAD-BJP government has given a record grant of Rs 1500 crore for the development of holy city. He said that against Rs 276 crore spent by congress party on the development of Amritsar area the SAD-BJP government has spent Rs 1736 crore on development of this holy city and its adjoining areas.
    The SAD president said that after elevated road worth Rs 312 crore to Golden  Temple Amritsar, besides 820 crore Plaza Project of Golden Temple, the POD would be the real tribute of SAD-BJP government to the Almighty.
    When asked about effect of delimitation and swapping of some seats with coalition partner BJP, Mr. Badal said that final decision on swapping few seats with BJP was at final stage. He said that Shiromani Akali Dal would announce the remaining candidates of SAD in few days so that concerned candidates would concentrates on their respective constituencies.
    The SAD president said that SAD-BJP coalition would sweep 2012 Punjab Vidhan Sabha polls by clinching more than 90 seats with huge margin. He said that Congress party was all set to beat its Bihar fate as people are fed up from Congress party due to unprecedented price hike inflicted by it and Congress Party’s dubious role in multi lakh crore scam was fully exposed before the public.
    When asked about Anna Hazare’s campaign, Mr. Badal said that Anna’s Jan Lokpal Bill and Right to Service Act enacted by SAD-BJP government have a singular focus of stamping out corruption from public life. He said that Right to Service Act was prevented act to check corruption whereas Jan Lokpal Bill gives a curative solution after corruption has been committed. He said that even doctor’s says that prevention is better than cure and that applies to the anti-corruption campaign.
    He congratulated Mr. Inderbir Singh Bularia, Chief Parliamentary Secretary and MLA from Amritsar South and senior Akali leader Mr. Veer Singh Lopoke for organizing mammoth gathering during Maha Vikas Yatra and expressed confidence that the people of Majha, who always known for their bravery, would play a significant role in rewriting the political history of Punjab by once again installing SAD-BJP government in the Punjab.
