CAPTAIN IRRELEVANT FOR PUNJAB: SUKHBIR

JALALABAD, DECEMBER 13: Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal, President Shiromani Akali Dal and Deputy Chief Minister Punjab today said that Captain Amarinder Singh has is irrelevant for Punjab as he has himself admitted that he has no independent agenda for the development of Punjab and would follow the policies of SAD-BJP government implemented during last five years.
    Talking to media persons here today, Mr. Badal said that people of Punjab have failed to comprehend the bipolar personality of Captain Amarinder Singh, who contradicts himself every second day. He said that firstly Captain Amarinder Singh announced with gusto that he would cancel all the welfare schemes and development projects if Congress comes to Power and second day he contradicts himself that he would continue all welfare schemes of SAD-BJP government including Atta-Dal scheme that he was criticizing from the day one. He said that the statements of Captain Amarinder Singh prove onething that he has no independent mind, vision for the development of Punjab and he has decided to follow the development agenda of SAD-BJP government. He said that Captain Amarinder Singh was waiting that when Shiromani Akali Dal release its manifesto so that he can copy and paste the same for congress party. Mr. Badal said that people of Punjab do not require a leader, who don’t have any independent vision for the growth of state and were just follower of other parties programs.  He said that Captain himself by his contradictory statement has proved his irrelevance for the Punjab and now people have decided to dump such irrelevant leaders.
    Describing the 51 achievements of Captain Amarinder Singh’s tenure a sham, Mr. Badal said that except termination act, that too pending before Apex Court, Captain has not a kilometer of road to showcase. He said that series of advertisements being given by Punjab government comparing the development during Congress period and SAD-BJP regime clearly show that Captain’s tenure was a dark period in the history of Punjab as during Captain’s tenure economy came to standstill, recruitment was banned in Punjab making lakhs of youth overaged waiting for government jobs and development projects initiated by SAD-BJP government including Bathinda Refinery were put in limbo to help a private refinery. He said that Captain like Chief Minister, who never had a time to meet his MLAs is not required by people of Punjab.
    When asked about finalization of tickets, Mr. Badal said that Political Affairs Committee would soon finalize the tickets. He said that talks with BJP were on to swap few seats. Mr. Badal said that winability would be sole crieteria and youth would be given proper representation while allocating tickets.
    Meanwhile, Mr. Harvirsa Singh Sidhu, Former Block Congress President from Mamdot today joined the SAD in presence of SAD President Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal and Mr. Vardev Singh Maan, Constituency Incharge Guru Harsahai.
    Prominent amongst others, who were present on the occasion Mr. Sher Singh Ghubaya, Member Parliament, Mr. Gurtej Singh Ghuriana, Chief Parliamentary Secretary, Mr. Prem Valecha, President District Planning Committee, Fazilka, Mr. Raj Chauhan, President Municipal Council, Jalalabad and Mr. Davinder Singh Babbal, Chairman Market Committee besides all the municipal councillors of the city.
