Amritsar, December 15– A book on important branch of mathematics authored by Prof. A.H. Siddiqi (currently in GBU), Prof. P. Manchanda (GNDU) and Prof. M. Brokate (Technical University Munich, Germany) on “Calculus with applications” was released by Prof. D.P. Agrawal, Chairman, Union Public Service Commission at India Habitat Centre.
The book writing project was sponsored by the famous Abdus Salam International Centre of Theoretical Physics, Trieste, Italy (UNESCO) and Technical University, Munich, Germany. Prof. K.R. Sreenivasan, Former Director, Abdus Salam ICTP and currently in Courant Institute, New York University, New York, USA has written the forward on this book.
According to Prof. Sreenivasan and Prof. Agrawal the coverage and presentation in the book are at high level and the authors have endeavored to present basic concepts and their applications in diverse fields. Besides presenting the subject matters elegantly they have introduced new aspects such as Wavelets and the Matlab in an interesting manner.
