CHANDIGARH, December 15: Prof Sarchand Singh, former Media Advisor to Youth Akali Dal president Bikram Singh Majithia today disputed the charges levelled against him by Majithia that he had betrayed him.
Reacting to Majithia’s allegations, Sarchand said, he was lying in frustration. Questioning Majithia’s claims that he was removed 4 years ago, Sarchand asked him, if that was the case why was his name mentioned on the top of the list of the office bearers of the Youth Akali Dal released on August 17 last as the Media Adviser to the party as well as the president.
Confronting Majithia’s allegations about betrayal, Sarchand said, it was Majithia who had betrayed the people of Majha and his brother in law Sukhbir Badal by refusing to vacate Majitha seat for him. With the result not only had Sukhbir to resign within less than six months of becoming the Deputy CM but also Majha was denied the chance of having its own Deputy CM which could have become possible after 50 years since the days of S Partap Singh Kairon.
He reiterated that it is Capt Amarinder Singh’s vision that will steer Punjab out of the crisis scripted by people like Majithia.
