MAJITHA (AMRITSAR), DECEMBER 23: Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal, President Shiromani Akali Dal and Deputy Chief Minister Punjab, today said that congress party, devoid of any political talent, lapping up rejected candidates of other political parties.
Speaking to media persons after paying glowing tributes to Lord Jesus in state level function, Mr. Badal said that Captain Amarinder Singh desperate to grab media space was enacting photo opportunities with the rejected leaders, who have been declared as Congress lapping rejected as spent forces by the people. He said that this desperation to grab expired products of other parties shows that no congress leader worth named was having guts to fight Vidhan Sabha Elections fearing certain decimations of Congresss Party therefore Captain Amarinder Singh had to import ‘Leaders’ from other parties to complete the list of 117 nominations.
Announcing the first list of 48 candidates, Mr. Badal said that Shiromani Akali Dal has fully geared up to vanquish congress party from the electoral scene and seek repeat mandate from the people. He said that congress has no development agenda and has resorted to abusive politics that shows their desperation.
When asked about changes if any in the candidates, Mr. Badal said that there would be some changes and winnability and loyalty of the candidates towards party would be prime criteria. He said that talks were on with BJP for mutually exchanging few seats. He said that a determined and resurgent Shiromani Akali Dal would announce all the candidates within one week so that prospective candidates could aggressively start campaign in the field.
Mr. Badal told media persons that history has given an opportunity to the electorate of Punjab to choose between development and destruction. He said that the kind of development, Punjab has witnessed during last five years has changed the face of state. He said that repeat term was required by Shiromani Akali Dal to make Punjab No. 1 state in the country.
Rejecting the Lokpal Bill submitted by Congres Party, Mr. Badal said that by keeping out CBI out of the purview of Lokpal, the union government was proposing farce institution. He said that Congress party had been misusing CBI to harass political rivals and was deliberately keeping out CBI to arm twist its political rivals. He also mocked at Food Security Act and said that it was a poor copy of Atta Daal scheme and without providing Daal to poor people, no food security can be ensured to the poverty stricken.
Earlier Mr. Badal paid glowing tributes to Lord Jesus and declared general holiday in all establishments on the eve of Christmas. He called upon people to follow the path of truth, selfless sacrifice and brotherhood, shown by Lord Jesus. He also listed out steps taken by SAD-BJP government for the welfare of Christian Community.
