Heritage walk by INTACH School heritage clubs

Amritsar, 23 December – Indian National Trust for Art & Cultural Heritage (INTACH) Amritsar Chapter organized heritage walk for the students of school heritage clubs. So that students may get the first hand knowledge about the heritage places of Amritsar city. Co-ordinator of School Heritage Clubs Mr. Amrit Lal Mannan told that in this walk 60 students and teachers from Spring Dale Public School, Sri Guru Harkrishan Public School Golden Avenue, Sri Ram Ashram Public School, Police Line D.A.V. Public School, D.A.V. International School took part in this walk. During this walk student visited Jallianwala Bagh, Katra Ahluwalia, Qilla Ahluwalia, Gurduwara Saragari, Town Hall, Gurduwara Santokh Sar Sahib, Guru Bazar, Taksal, Darshani Deorhi, Chitta Akhara & Akhara Sangalwala. Students were very impressed by the architect and beautiful façade of old buildings. Paintings under the Beautiful Chajja’s & Charokha’s attracted the students. Poor Sanitary conditions in the Old City disappointed the students. Heaps of garbage and stray dogs welcome them in every street. The local administration should take steps to get the city cleaned before the people start heritage walk. In this walk teachers Mr. Tejinderbir Singh, Mrs. Pooja Jaitely, Mrs. Varinder Kaur, Mrs. Sangeeta Mahajan, Mr. Himanshu, Mrs. Madhvi Mohla, Mrs. Rupinder Bains also participated.
