Jammu: District Secretary of Poonch District Kabaddi Association Mr. Basharat Khan told that District Kabaddi Championship for Boys & Girls Section was held from 24th Dec. to 25th Dec. 2011 at Harni, Mendhar (Poonch). Ten teams in Boys section and eight teams in Girls section have participated in the said Championship. The opening ceremony was inaugurated by Chief Guest Sh. Vijay Kumar Inspector CRPF 52 Battalion who appreciated the efforts of Poonch District Kabaddi Association for organizing the colourful District Championship under the banner of J&K Amateur Kabaddi Association and in the ages of J&K State Sports Council and also provided the opportunity to the budding and talented players of Poonch District who have participated in the said Championship.
In the closing ceremony Chief Guest Principal Hr. Sec. School, Harnai and Sh. Wasim Khan Sarpanch Harni distributed the prizes among the winner and runner up teams in Boys and Girls section. In Boys section the final match was played between Hr. Sec. School Harnai won the District Championship where Mr. Nasin Iqbal, Mr. Tazeem Ahmed Khan, Mr. Nazarat Khan and Mr. Waheez Ahmed Khan players performed very well during the final match.
In Girls Section, the final match was played between Hr. Sec. School Harnai V/s Friend Club Harnai and Hr. Sec. School Harnai won the Championship where Miss Zaneeba Shokat, Miss Tahira Kousar, Miss Salma Hanief, Miss Sobia Anjum performed very well during the final match.
