HERITAGE WALK OF THE MASTERS IN TOURISM STUDENTS OF BBK DAV COLLEGE FOR WOMEN, AMRITSAR

    A heritage walk of 5 Sarovars of Amritsar was conducted by Punjab Heritage & Tourism Promotion Board.  The students of Masters in Tourism Management of BBK DAV College for Women, Amritsar participated in the walk on 27th Dec. 2011 under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Ms. Neha Bhatia and Asst. Prof. Ms. Preeti Sharma.  Mr. Gurinder Singh, tourist guide, approved by Tourism Government initiated the walk.  He took the students to the historic 5 sarovars of Amritsar named Shri Santoksar Sahib, Bibeksar Sahib, Shri Ramsar Sahib, Shri Caulsar Sahib & Shri Harminder Sahib.  The students acknowledged themselves with the facts, historical background & the importance of these 5 sarovars.  Enroute the students also visited Jallianwala Bagh & Gurdwara Sarangarhi,  the only Gurdwara made by the Britishers.    
 The Principal of the college Dr.(Mrs.) Neelam Kamra appreciated the efforts taken by the Punjab Tourism Government, specially Mr. Balraj Singh, District Tourism Officer for starting such an knowledgeable heritage walk which acknowledged the students with the historical importance of Amritsar which is the hub for historical & religious tourism in Punjab.
